edCast Install Notes

1. Run Edcast Standalone Installer
2. Click 'I Agree'
3. Click next - On this screen note the destination folder (needed in step 5)
4. 'Yes' to insalling Visual Studio 2005 redistributable
5. Once complete copy 'lame_enc.dll' from the lame_enc folder to the 'destination folder' 
6. You're installed and ready to configure edCast for streaming. 

Setting Up a stream / encoder for Mp3

1. Open edCast
2. Click 'Add Encoder' 
3. You'll notice an encoder display as disconnected in the list below.
4. Double click the encoder
5. First thing: Go down to 'Encoder Type' slect 'MP3 Lame'
6. Back to top, Enter 'Bitrate' as specified for your stream
7. 'Samplerate' & 'Channels'should be fine as defaults set. 
8. 'Server Type' select 'Shoutcast'
9. 'Server IP' - Enter the IP provided in your welcome email.
10. 'Server Port' - Enter port number as provided in welcome email.
11. 'Encoder Password' - As provided in welcome email.
12. Delete anything within the 'Mountpoint' field. (leave empty)
13. Change 'Reconnect Seconds' to 10 or lower. (If you drop out it will reconnect in x seconds)

You can click YP Settings at top and configure these as needed. 

Click OK

Once saved, when you want to connect to start streaming, select your encoder and click connect.
